Official Lubricant for Dresser ROOTS Rotary Gas Meters (8C–56M)

Roots Meter Oil is the official lubricant used to service Dresser ROOTS rotary gas meters. This specially formulated oil lubricates the meter’s internal bearing reservoirs and moving components, helping maintain accurate gas measurement and long equipment life.

Designed for use in ROOTS rotary meters from 8C through 56M, this oil provides stable lubrication, oxidation resistance, and protection for the precision gearing inside the meter.

The gallon container is commonly used by gas utilities, meter technicians, and industrial maintenance teams performing routine meter servicing.

Environmentally Friendly Formula

ROOTS™ Meter Oil is formulated using a modern R&O AW hydraulic oil additive package that provides excellent lubrication stability while remaining environmentally friendly.

Additionally, The oil is:

• Not rated hazardous by OSHA or the EPA

• Free of SARA Title III reportable chemicals

• Compatible with previously approved ROOTS oils such as
  VersiTemp 2, Shell Tellus T15, and Shell Diala AX
