Sensing Line Requirement

The NGRB requires a downstream sensing line (≥3/8″ diameter, not included) to operate correctly. It must be installed at least 5× the nominal pipe diameter downstream of the regulator and away from turbulence (elbows, valves, or other equipment). Use a needle valve to fine-tune response after commissioning.

Only qualified personnel should install the regulator and sensing line per Norgas instructions.

Vent and Relief Guidance

The NGRB regulator includes a built-in partial relief vent that may release gas to atmosphere during occasional outlet pressure increases. Because of this, vent orientation and vent piping must be handled correctly.

Outdoor Installations:
The vent should never face upward where debris or moisture can enter. Keep the vent screen in place unless vent piping is required to route venting to another location.

Indoor Installations:
As required by applicable local and state codes, a separate vent line may be required for each regulator. Do not combine vent lines. Vent piping should be sized to allow the regulator to function properly and relieve gas safely in the event of internal relief.
